The 2016 judging academy is presided over by Chief Judge, industry veteran and former Head of Continental's OnePass, Earl Quenzel.  He will oversee three sets of judges for each category of award:

Co-Brand Card Awards:

  • Iain Webster has extensive hands on co-brand experience from his days at both British Airways and Qatar Airways.   More recently as ICLP's Global Loyalty Consultant he has worked on both sides of the fence with card issuers and airline clients to help them develop compelling propositions.  In addition to his role at ICLP, Iain is also the President of the newly formed Loyalty Fraud Association (LFPA) which is helping loyalty programs make sure their members can keep all the miles they earn from their co-brands and other partners!
  • Whitnee Hawthorne is another experience airline professional with recent experience at jetBlue as well American Airlines and the oneworld alliance.   Responsible for the international expansion of jetBlue's card porfolio she brings a a sharp eye to both innovation and the best card campaign categories.

Loyalty Awards:

  • Madeleine Anderson is currently Interim Head of Partnerships at Flybe. Madeleine brings extensive airline loyalty experience, in both the legacy, low cost and regional arena.  Whilst managing the British Airways Executive Club, she was responsible for the Marketing Communications of multiple co-brand card launches.  Her current engagement is with the largest regional carrier in Europe, FlyBe.   Madeleine is also the Chairman for the Loyalty Track at Mega 2016.
  • Alan Lias formerly VP Customer Loyalty & Ancillary Revenue Development at Virgin Atlantic where his responsibilities covered their award winning brand and loyalty program. A veteran of the airline industry with extensive experience in marketing and business development for leading brands such as American Express, he brings front line insights to the judging panel.

Ancillary/Merchandising Awards:

  • Jay Sorensen's research and reports have made him a leading authority on frequent flier programs and the ancillary revenue movement. As president of the IdeaWorksCompany consulting firm, he has enhanced the generation of airline revenue, started loyalty programs and co-branded credit cards, developed products in the service sector, and helped start airlines and other travel companies. His career includes 13 years at Midwest Airlines where he was responsible for marketing, sales, customer service, product development, operations, planning, financial analysis and budgeting
  • Sinead Finn is former Director of Commercial Revenue at Ryanair and showed the rest of the industry how to do Ancillary Revenue and fees! Sinead now runs affinnity and brings broad commercial and practical experience of ancillary and technology deployment to our panel of judges
